Derived from the Greek word “sappherios,” sapphires reveal an array of colors, rank 9 on the Mohs Hardness Scale, and lead tales and legends with their mystical powers. Ranking just next to diamonds in hardness, sapphires are also found suspended inside mechanical watch gears.
